The Mighty Bug Review

A local mom's take on the Center for Puppetry Arts

By Tawanda Walker, mom of 2 February 2, 2017
Does your child love muppets, puppets, or art in general?  Then this is the place to be!  The Center For Puppetry Arts is a great place for your children to engage with characters and setting.

Today my daughter and I had a mommy-daughter day, and we got to see "The Adventures of Mighty Bug".  Which my daughter truly loved.  She also got to touch a couple of real insects that were at the exhibit.  The performance was about  a super-hero called "Mighty Bug", whose mission was to protect the citizens of Bugville from the evil Scorpiana.

The show not only taught about the importance of being a hero is and what a hero is.  The children also learned how the characters work in front and behind the scenes.  They learned about shadow puppets, how lighting effects things, and more.  We also got to build our very own Mighty Bug; which my daughter enjoyed.  She also got to fly it....and it glows in the dark! What could be better than that?

So, if you're looking for something exciting to do with the kids, then check out "The Adventures of Mighty Bug".
