7 ways to prepare your child for the Ga Milestone over Spring Break

Encouraging Learning during break

Spring break is here and GA Milestone is next. Why wasn’t this testing completed before the break? No worries. I have some great ideas and suggestions on how to prepare for GA Milestone testing with your child:

Create a quiet noise free study area. Kids need balanced time of play and study time. Supply It with paper, pens, highlighters, index cards folders, and a timer.

Review grades/speak with teacher. Now is a great time while on spring break to sit back and look at your child's grades to see where they need help. Plan a meeting with teacher to get suggestions and more information on specific areas of grade improvements.

Praise your child. Focusing on what your CAN DO instead of what they are struggling with. Children thrive in positive emotional environments. Testing time is stressful for some children. Talk to them about how they feel about testing. Why this test is important. Tell them how proud you are of them. On the last day of testing, reward them or go out to celebrate.
