Poached Pears Wrapped in Puffed Pastry

Tonight I made pears wrapped in puffed pastry.

First, start by coring and peeling each pear.

Then poach in 4 cups of water, 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of honey, 1/2 of a lemon, (yes whole) 1 vanilla bean,  (seeded with hull reserved) 3 sticks of cinnamon, and 6 whole cloves, on medium heat until done.(about 30 minutes depending on ripeness)

Next thaw out one sheet of puff pastry and cut it into 1/2 inch strips.

Wrap the pear in the puff pastry and bake at 400, for 15-20 minutes.

I think they are really pretty!

I also think they taste great!
