Deadline is Approaching for Magnet Schools in Douglas County

Deadline to Apply for High School Magnet Programs Is December 11
 
High schools in Douglas County are already preparing for the 2018-2019 school year. Magnet programs at each high school are holding informational sessions for current 8th grade students and their parents over the next three weeks. Applications for all magnet programs are due December 11, 2017, for the 2018-2019 school year. Notifications of acceptance will be mailed to students on February 7, 2018.
Informational sessions will be held on the following dates:


Douglas County High School International Baccalaureate (IB) Magnet
Tuesday, October 24, 2017, 6:30 p.m. in the DCHS Theater

Lithia Springs High School Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Magnet

The College & Career Institute Academy (CCI) is located on the campus of West Georgia Technical College and follows a slightly different timeline due to grant regulations. The next informational meeting at the CCI will take place Wednesday, November 8, 2017, 6:00 p.m. Students in the CCI Academy spend the entire school day at the CCI where they take their required core classes in addition to high school and college electives. Lottery registration opens January 12, 2018. The lottery will take place February 1, 2018.
