Five Ways to Enjoy Fall at Fernbank

Mother Nature puts on one of her greatest shows each fall, and WildWoods and Fernbank Forest are no exception.

  1. Look for bright yellow hickory and tulip poplar leaves, along with red blackgum and sourwood leaves.
  2. Listen closely, many migratory song birds are passing through the forest on their fall migration routes. You might also hear the hustle of squirrels and chipmunks preparing for winter.
  3. Enjoy new dramatic views as the leaves drop. You’ll see something new each time you visit!
  4. Take a guided tour for a more in-depth experience. Visit our calendar of eventsfor details.
  5. Don’t miss the special Nature Gallery exhibit, Wild Huts and Hollows, featuring a variety of woven sculptures.

WildWoods and Fernbank Forest are open year-round, rain or shine, and are included with Museum admission (members free).*
