Five Ways to Enjoy Fall at Fernbank
Mother Nature puts on one of her greatest shows each fall, and WildWoods and Fernbank Forest are no exception.
- Look for bright yellow hickory and tulip poplar leaves, along with red blackgum and sourwood leaves.
- Listen closely, many migratory song birds are passing through the forest on their fall migration routes. You might also hear the hustle of squirrels and chipmunks preparing for winter.
- Enjoy new dramatic views as the leaves drop. You’ll see something new each time you visit!
- Take a guided tour for a more in-depth experience. Visit our calendar of eventsfor details.
- Don’t miss the special Nature Gallery exhibit, Wild Huts and Hollows, featuring a variety of woven sculptures.
WildWoods and Fernbank Forest are open year-round, rain or shine, and are included with Museum admission (members free).*
