TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FELLOWS TO PERFORM IN
ATLANTA SYMPHONY HALL FOR 2017 FALL MUSICALE CONCERT ON NOV. 12

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s (ASO) Talent Development Program (TDP) Fellows will perform in Atlanta Symphony Hall on Nov. 12 at 3:00 p.m. The program will feature selections from Beethoven, Haydn, Stravinsky, John Williams and more. There will also be a special guest performance from TDP alumna and New World Symphony FellowChelsea Sharpe, violin. All tickets are $10.

The mission of the TDP is to educate and develop musically gifted African American and Latinx students committed to pursuing a career in orchestral music. TDP Fellows range from fifth grade to twelfth grade and travel from all over metro Atlanta for weekly private lessons with an Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musician, in addition to many other education and performance opportunities.

The TDP is one of the longest-running, year-round musical education diversity programs and was founded nearly 25 years ago by Azira G. Hill and a group of Atlanta community leaders. The program has served talented young musicians, and the entire field of classical music, by providing the highest level of musical training to African American and Latinx students. Nearly 100 students have graduated from the program and gone on to attend top music schools, including The Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music, Manhattan School of Music and the Peabody Institute. This strong educational foundation has led many to careers in orchestras, teaching and performance. For more information, visit aso.org/TDP.
