Do you know the difference between the SAT and ACT?

Is your child taking the right test?

By Kimberly Bryant January 31, 2018

As the parent of a homeschooled teen, I have gone great lengths to fully understand college entrance guidelines.  As a homeschool family, we have to prepare a little differently than kids in public or private school.  There is no guidance counselor telling us when to do certain things.  Last summer I came across a company called Applerouth.  This company offers a free mock ACT and free mock SAT test for your teens.  They will provide you with an analysis of which test is best for your child and will improve their college entrance chances.

If you're anything like me it's always been drilled your SAT scores rule the world.  This isn't the case.  For instance, my son is really strong in language arts and not exceptional in math.  Taking the SAT will present a lower score as its heavily math based.  The ACT, however, is more well rounded in language, spelling, science and math.

I just received an email that a free webinar is coming up for parents who wish to find out more information about which test is best for your child.

The SAT had a recent overhaul and the ACT made subtle tweaks. These two tests are different now, but they're more alike. Learn the main differences between the two tests, how to decide which one is better for your student, when to take them, how much to prepare for them, and more.
