Deep River Snacks Gave Lots of Chips at the Mad Hatters Fun Run Event

SHARE HOUSE FUNDRAISER

By Veronica Vante, Publisher May 11, 2018

Improving my eating habits to be a healthier version of myself takes a lot of work, time and patience. Changing the eating habits of an entire household including three children is the same challenge but amplified. My husband and I straddle on the Vegan & Vegetarian fence, while we encourage the children to make better choices. Since the beginning of this nutrition journey, I have kept one important thought in mind to protect my sanity and that is, not all carbs are bad carbs. When the children get tired of fruit and want variety, I let them go in the stash of Sweet Maui Onion Deep River Kettle Chips.

I laid eyes on Deep River Kettle Chips for the first time last year at work and immediately fell in love with the Sea Salt flavored chips. I did not feel bad for eating a snack made with potatoes and clean ingredients: Non-GMO, No Soy, Gluten Free, Exclusively Sunflower oil. So, when the opportunity was presented to accept a large donation of chips for a charity event in the local community – I knew it was the right thing to do! I love being present in the community and this was the perfect opportunity.

My daughter and I carried a truckload of potato chips to The S.H.A.R.E. House fundraising event in which families walked and jogged 5K’s for a good cause. The S.H.A.R.E. House is a non-profit organization providing crisis intervention to women and children. We got to meet new people in the community and talk about awesomely flavored chips, as we ate them. I love that perfect strangers can connect over clean eating! We were also able to give away a few boxes to the S.H.A.R.E. shelter. I was able to inject important values into a learning lesson that day with my teenager, and I could tell she understood the value of giving back.
