SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM
PURPOSE
Provide scholarship awards to deserving African-American males/females in the graduating class of 2019 who are entering a college/university or technical school as a full-time student Fall/Summer2019.
Guidelines:
MUST be a high school senior (Class of 2019) in a Metro Atlanta High School and or surrounding area
Application Criteria:
- Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.2 or higher.
- Must complete a scholarship award application.
- Two letters of recommendation (not to exceed one page) from a teacher/administrator or a community leader attesting to your academic achievement, leadership, and character.
- Two (2) page essay expressing why you should receive a scholarship and what you have done/will do to improve yourself, family, and community.
- Official copy of high school transcript.
- Official transcripts of any colleges attended (including Dual Enrollment Programs).
- Official ACT scores (20 minimum) or SAT scores (1000 minimum)
- Community Service Completion (evidence must be submitted for proof of completed community service hours).
- Complete a 20-minute Scholarship Panel Interview.
- Applications received by January 15, 2019 will receive a bonus award of $250 if selected
- Application deadline is February 23, 2019.Applications postmarked after that date will not be accepted
- Interviews TBA during the month of March 2019,
- Scholarship Winners will be announced in April 2019
- Scholarship Brunch TBA April 27, 2019
- Scholarships will be tendered to the (scholarship winner’s guardian) upon proof of acceptance, registered, and matriculation as a full-time student at a four year College/University or post-secondary institution.
