Our top picks of things to do this Spring(April, May)

By Christina Stump May 1, 2019

Hey all,

So this month I thought as one of my first articles I would share some of my favorite to do things to do for the spring time in our Area, which ranges from Atlanta to Douglasville and even Fairburn. I love our area to take the kids out. We have some great events in Spring that I wanted to share with you all!

The list of things that we love to do during the springtime, not in any particular order:

1. Taste of Douglasville- A great day to see performances, taste local businesses food, shop local tables and also see local services. Love this event!

2. The GA Renaissance Festival - We love the Renn Festival and go almost every year! It is a super fun day when you can see jousting, visit the blacksmith, and see people perform for you. And even get to eat a turkey leg!

3. Serenbe May Day Festival - We love the community of Serenbe. We have watched the shows at the outside theater before and we love to see the artists strolling through the streets. You can also see local businesses showing their wares and sample some great food trucks also. A must see is the children doing the May Pole traditional dancing!

4. Ultimate Block Party - This is in downtown Douglasville and Right behind the Douglas County Museum. There's lots of food, police trucks that the kids can touch, kids zones, and Food trucks! This is a great party to bring the kids to, lots to do for the kids!

5. Hiking with the family at Kennesaw Battlefield Park or Sweetwater Creek Park - We love our hiking and love to get out to the parks to exercise and feel healthier on the weekends in the springtime. Out two favorite local parks are Kennesaw Battlefield and Sweetwater Creek Parks. Both of these parks have great trails to over for extreme hiking people and people who just want to get out and walk with their kids.

6. Chastian Park Arts Festival - This festival is a little out of our direct area but still in the Atlanta area, only a few minutes from us. Lots of Artists and crafting people showing their wares for sale at this festival. There is also a children's area, food trucks galore, and musicians performing also. It's a great day for families and also supports our local Atlanta arts.

These are a few things that my family and I love to do in our area during springtime and I wanted to share these with you all as sometimes we get stumped on events or ideas of things to do with our families. I know I have! All these events are listed on our calendar also.

Also, you may just see me with a Macaroni Kid table at some of these:) If you do you can always stop by and say hello, I love to meet our readers!
