The Top 5 Playgrounds or Parks in the Douglasville- Fairburn area!

By Christina Stump May 15, 2019

Douglasville is lucky to have so many great parks and playgrounds for kids. My kids have swung, spun, and raced through many of them ... and  they definitely have their favorites!

Here’s a list of our family’s top five favorite parks and playgrounds in Douglasville and the reasons we love them:

1. Hunter Park at 8830 Gurley Road Douglasville, GA 30134. The kids love to walk by the lake, the old Caboose, and the covered playgrounds! That is hard to find in our area. My kids love that and so do I, as the spring and summertime's in GA get super hot and quick!

2. Sweetwater Creek Park at 1750 Mount Vernon Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30057. We love this park! We go there for the awesome hiking trails on almost every weekend. The kids love the playgrounds areas and the trails, you can always see fun things like bugs, squirrels, and other wildlife on the trails and in the park. There is a $5 parking fee daily if you aren't a member. Become a member, it's $50 a year and if you go there a lot like us it is so worth it! Also in the warm months you can rent paddle boats and can go kayaking as well.

3.Clarence Duncan Park at 6000 Rivertown Rd Fairburn, GA 30213. This park is fantastic for kids and adults alike. There is a playground for kids, a picturesque lake, a spray park and pool during the summertime, and fields for sports. It is such a great park to take the family to in the spring and summertime.

4.  Cochran Mill Park at 6300 Cochran Mill Rd, Palmetto, GA 30268 is such a great park to do trails with the family. They have over 800 acres of land to explore with lots of trees, nature, and even small waterfalls!

5.  Deer Lick Park at 2105 Mack Rd Douglasville, GA 30135. This is a park that we visit occasionally with the kids. There is a skateboard ramp park that my oldest child loves to use. There are also several smaller playground areas for my youngest to go to enjoy as well. We don't go to this park often on the sunny days as it does get quite hot at the park with very little shade for the kids on the playgrounds. But all in all a decent park for the family and dogs to go to once in a while.

That’s our family’s top 5 list for favorite parks and playgrounds in Douglasville and the Fairburn area, but I bet your kids have their own favorites!
